About Kelissa

Hello!, I’m Kelissa Brockett; a nomadic scuba diving instructor, RPM instructor, blogger, wanderer, adventurer and photographer. I love a challenge, having a goal and can never sit still. It is because of this drive, i pursued intense sport from a young age then left the nest to live and travel around the world.

My blog is a repository of travel and diving advice, as well as stories of my experiences and life. It is through my passion for travel, diving and health that i have created this blog; not only for my own self-discovery but also to share my stories with my family and friends back home and more importantly, it is for you. I hope it will inspire you to take the plunge, to travel the world, to explore beneath the sea, to reinvent yourself, create your own path, chase your dreams and enjoy every moment of life.

I was born in Singapore to English gypsy parents who sold up and left the UK back when traveling was a crazy idea. We moved as a family to KL, Malaysia then 5 years later back to Singapore. Growing up in such a diverse culture i couldn’t be more thankful for but it has given me the travel bug. In 2001, we migrated to Perth, Australia where i completed high school and one year of university, then we packed up again and moved to the Gold Coast, where i completed my business degree at Griffith University.

When i completed my degree and the Surfboat season finished i got itchy feet, had to find a new challenge and fulfill my wanderlust. I quit my job, packed some stuff and moved to Far North Queensland to become a diving instructor and work on the Great Barrier Reef. During this time i also became a Les Mills RPM instructor which reignited my love and passion for sport and health.

After over a year in Cairns, the world opened up to me to explore new countries. I then travelled to the UK and then onto Live in Cyprus for a few months. At the end of the diving season, a new world was awaiting, this time i packed up and headed back to Asia to live and work in Phuket, Thailand. Along the way stopping and exploring many places, increasing my cultural experience, learning from different people and getting out of my comfort zone.

Who knows what adventure is coming around the corner but remember … ‘Not all those who wander are lost’.
