Ao Sane Beach – Best kept secret in Phuket!

Ao Sane Beach; a secret little hideaway in the south of Phuket. Its my little haven and a definite must see for anyone searching for a secluded beach in the heart of a busy town. The surrounding area is Naiharn, with a few hotels, markets and restaurants close to the beach in my point of view, it is the nicer parts of Phuket. There are still tourists in the area, so watch out as sometimes there can also be the crazy steep tourist prices!

Our beach shack

Usually people think you need to go to Koh Lanta or Koh Samui to get the beach bungalows, this is wrong; i have now spent many months living at the end of the cape in a shack on the beach. No hot water, no internet, not proper electricity, but to me its perfect. It has a view to die for, located on the beach you do not need a TV, just some tunes like Xavier Rudd, a bottle of wine and your in heaven on the porch.

Naiharn Beach

Located very close to a lake, it is also a beautiful spot for a sunset run or walk. There is even a reasonable night life; my favourite bar the Reggae Bar located within walking distance from home on the lake. If your after a busier atmosphere, Naiharn is only a 15 minute ride to Kata which has more going on, more tourists, markets, restaurants, bars and beaches!

 

To get to Ao Sane beach you have to go through The Royal Phuket Yacht Clubs basement; come out the otherside and you’ll discover another road. There is a restaurant on the beach and around 15 bungalows. Perfect for a little getaway!
