Adrenalin Pumping Cairns

In my element - Great Barrier Reef

In my element – Great Barrier Reef

If your a bit of an adrenalin junkie like myself, here are a few pointers to get your glands pumping in Cairns, Australia!

Scuba Diving

Personally, diving is more like meditation, but for some it can be an adrenalin boost. Cairns is the perfect place to concur any fears and achieve your childhood dream of breathing underwater. The Great Barrier Reef, is the worlds largest reef system offering incredible diving for non-certified to any level certified diver. Click here for more information on the Great Barrier Reef.

Sky Diving

One of the most spectacular places to jump out of a plane.. over the great barrier reef, landing on some of the most beautiful beaches in Australia. It is the most incredible feeling, free falling for 60’ then taking 15 minutes to admire the view, do a couple more flips then cruise to landing!

Bungy Jumping!

Bungy Jumping

Most people are terrified jumping off a ledge face first, but trust me, once you collect the courage to do one the majority of you will want to do another. It is normal to have a fear of jumping to your death; only attached my rope, but in Cairns, AJ Hacket is the only bungy centre and offers the highest safety standard so you are in safe hands!

White Water Rafting

There are a few options and companies that offer white water rafting around Cairns. To get the most adrenalin pumping and the best experience I would recommend a full day on the Tully river.

Wakeboarding

Cabe Ski Park

Only 20 mins from town is a purpose built cable ski park. Rain, hail or shine this place is a laugh and a tough workout! It offers wake boarding for all levels from beginners (even knee boarding) to professionals (with jumps!), definitely worth an afternoon!

Waterfalls

Cliff jumping in the middle of the rainforest off a waterfall is sure to get your heart started. There are many waterfalls easily accessible from Cairns, in some of the most majestical areas. Crystal Cascades is one of my favorite as its the closest (easily done in have a day) but there are also secret waterfalls to explore around the same area with untouched water from the mountains and no one else in sight.

Many tour operators from Cairns offer adrenalin packages, so do some research and find yourself a good deal!
