Whether your in New Zealand for summer or winter it is one of those places needed to be visited. It is an adrenalin fueled town surrounded by majestic mountains, situated on Lake Wakatipu, in the heart of the south island. With so many things to do, no two days will be the same.
Summer
When the suns out, the days are long and filled with exciting adventures where the temperatures range between 20C and 30C, making Queenstown an amazing summer playground.
Winter
Surrounded by snow capped mountains, a crystal clear lake and the bluest of skies, winter is just to die for. Days can be filled with skiing, snowboarding, and many winter events.
Adrenalin Queenstown
Whether its bungy jumping, sky diving, paragliding, white water rafting or anything in between Queenstown is one of the top adrenalin pumping towns in the world.
No matter what time of year, it is set to get your heart racing. In summer, they specialise in water sports, and winter its all about the snow. You can even go horse riding through stunning scenery like The Lord of the Rings.
There are many mountaineering, mountain biking and tours alike, but do you research as there are many companies offering the deal all year round. The south island is also famous for its wine, so if you need a break from adrenalin for a day, why not do a winery tour, or visit a day spa?
The night life in Queenstown is very similar to the daytime, crazy. They cater for all from upmarket restaurants to pub grub. As well as many clubs that open till the very late hours of the morning.
Accommodation
Do you research and you will find Queenstown offers accommodation for everyone – backpackers and 5* Resorts to self contained apartments and campsites. My suggestion is if your up for a few nights out, stay somewhere relatively close to town, if you prefer the peace and quiet you can find many hotels along the lake or towards Wanaka.
