8 things to do in south-east Cyprus!

During summer Cyprus is about sun, beach and beer. Known for the many months of no rain, extreme heat and night life it is always a good time. However, after living there for a few months, i realised there was a few more things to do on my days off, here are just some of them to get you inspired!

  1. Cape Greko – overlooking Ayia Napa and the Mediterranean ocean the cape has stunning cliffs with magical views almost all the way to Lebanon. There are many hidden gems including caves for walkers, snorkelers and divers, view points and secret rock pools so why not rent a quad bike for the day to explore?
  2. Party it up in Ayia Napa! Known for its after light party culture, Napa has something to offer for everybody
  3. Fig Tree Bay – Get out your cameras! Crystal clear waters and 20+m visibility underwater allows for some of the most picturesque beach days.
  4. Larnaca – If you feel the need to urbanise yourself, Larnaca has a movie theatre and loads of shopping! If not, why not dive the Zenobia Wreck?
  5. Nicosia – the countries capital – torn between the Greeks and the Turks, make sure you take your passport to cross the boarder. The history filled city has many ruins and old buildings as well as markets; old and new to explore and learn about!
  6. Experience a catamaran sunset cruise on the Mediterranean.
  7. Visit the infamous Famagusta – the closed city. Still closed today, it is very hard to reach however, if you get the right tour (bus is easiest) they should take you as close as you can go and to a view point!
  8. Indulge in a Cypriot Meze – group dishes where you get the opportunity to try everything – from slow cooked lamb to snails!Meze
